Residential Development Associate / Senior Associate

3+ PQE | Birmingham / East Midlands | Hybrid

I'm working with an established UK law firm that is investing significantly in the continued growth of its Residential Development practice, following a number of key Partner and senior hires.

The team is continuing to secure new client relationships and exciting work, and they're now looking for an experienced Residential Development lawyer (3+ PQE) to join them at an important stage of that growth.

This is a genuine opportunity to work on high-quality strategic land and development matters, with exposure to new and existing clients across the sector.

The Work

The team acts for a broad range of housebuilders, landowners and land promoters, advising across the development lifecycle, including:

  • Strategic land and promotion agreements
  • Option agreements and conditional contracts
  • Residential development and site acquisitions
  • Development disposals
  • Large-scale residential schemes
  • Land assembly, collaboration and overage arrangements

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
