Solicitor / Legal Executive (Residential Development) – Manchester – 3-5 PQE – Competitive Salary + Benefits
A leading full-service commercial law firm with a strong regional reputation is looking to recruit a Solicitor or Legal Executive into its residential development team. The role is based in the firm's Manchester city centre office.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious residential property lawyer in Manchester to work on high-volume plot sales and site assembly for housebuilders, SME developers, property traders and investors across the North West and nationally.
Offering genuine autonomy, paralegal support on transactions and real involvement in client relationships and business development, this role is ideal for a Residential Development Solicitor or Legal Executive looking for quality development work and a clear path to progression.
The Role
- Plot sales / residential development
- Site assembly work, including drafting the legal documentation pack
- Managing plot sale transactions with the support of a paralegal team
- Working to developer timescales and ensuring deadlines are met
- Advising developers on refinance matters

General residential property
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Refinance matters
- Buy-to-let and property investment work
Client and team
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Acting as a key point of contact for important clients
- Supporting business development and networking activity
- Contributing to the continued growth of the team
The Candidate
- Solicitor or Legal Executive with approximately 3-5 years' PQE
- Experience of residential development, unit sales or new build sales is essential
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong technical knowledge across freehold and leasehold sales, purchases and refinance
- Commercial property drafting experience would be advantageous
- Supervisory or management experience is desirable
- Familiarity with estate documentation and legal packs
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Well organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to developer deadlines
- Commercially minded, with an interest in business development and networking
