Opportunity: Residential Property Lawyer (3+ PQE)
Location: Bournemouth or Poole (Hybrid | Flexible Working)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Bonus
If you're an experienced Residential Property Lawyer who enjoys running your own caseload, looking after your clients and getting stuck into the detail of a transaction, this could be a really good next move!
We're working with a well-established regional firm with a strong presence across Dorset and Somerset. They have a sizeable and experienced team behind them, but retain a friendly, down-to-earth feel, and they're looking for another experienced lawyer to join their Land team in Bournemouth or Poole.
The Work:
This is a proper fee-earning role where you'll have ownership of your own matters from instruction through to post-completion.
- You'll deal with a broad range of residential property work, including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and wider Land transactions.
- There's also scope to get involved in more specialist work including new build developments, shared ownership, lease extensions and equity release, giving you plenty of opportunity to build on your existing experience.
- You'll liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders, managing agents and other solicitors to keep transactions moving, managing the full journey from taking on the instruction and investigating title through to exchange, completion and post-completion.
- There's scope to guide more junior lawyers and support staff so if you enjoy sharing your knowledge and helping others develop, you'll have the opportunity to do that here.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The Team:
The Land team is an established part of the firm, with experienced lawyers working across its offices and different areas of property.
- You'll have your own caseload and plenty of autonomy but won't be working in isolation.
- There's a good level of experience around you, with a really collaborative approach and opportunities to learn from others.
What They Are Looking For:
- 3+ years' fee-earning experience in Residential Property
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
- Strong knowledge of residential property and Land Law
- Experience managing your own caseload from instruction through to post-completion
- Confident working independently and managing your own deadlines
- Strong client and communication skills
- Comfortable building relationships with clients and professional contacts
- Ideally, some experience supporting or mentoring more junior colleagues
- Most importantly, they're looking for someone who knows their stuff, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a team rather than simply processing files.

- Career development is a big part of the offering, with support for ongoing learning, professional development and progression within the firm.
- And the benefits aren't bad either:
- 25 days' annual leave + bank holidays + birthday leave
- Ability to buy or sell annual leave
- Enhanced pension and bonus scheme
- Life assurance
- Health Cash Plan
- 24/7 GP service
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Learning and development support
