An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to join a successful and well-established Property Department in Chichester.

The department handles a broad range of Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property matters, providing an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced Fee Earners in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is a great opportunity for a proactive and organised Legal Secretary who enjoys working in a busy legal environment and takes pride in providing high-quality administrative support and excellent client service.

The Role

  • Providing day-to-day secretarial and administrative support to Property Fee Earners
  • Supporting Fee Earners across Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property matters
  • Preparing correspondence, documents and other legal paperwork
  • Managing diaries, appointments and general administration
  • Communicating professionally with clients, solicitors, estate agents and other third parties
  • Maintaining accurate and well-organised electronic files
  • Assisting with file management and ensuring matters remain compliant with internal procedures
  • Supporting the department with general administrative and secretarial duties
  • Working effectively within a paper-lite/paperless environment
  • Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and within required timescales
  • Providing a consistently high level of client care and professional service.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant within a Residential Property/Conveyancing Department
  • Proven experience working within a solicitors' office
  • Strong secretarial, administrative and IT skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence communicating with clients and professional third parties
  • A proactive, reliable and self-motivated approach
