Applications are sought from residential property solicitors who are confident handling a caseload of good quality residential files.

The role
To provide quality legal services to clients, to operate in accordance with the Firm’s administrative procedures and to participate and promote the profitable development of the Residential Conveyancing team in particular and the Firm generally. To support clients with all legal aspects of buying, selling, or remortgaging a home, ensuring a smooth, legally sound transfer of property ownership.
Responsibilities
- Acting for buyers and sellers on freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Reviewing, drafting, and amending contracts, deeds, reports, and client letters
- Title review, raising/answering enquiries, submitting searches and handling HMLR formalities
- Managing exchange, completion, and post-completion
- Advising on remortgages, mortgage redemption, transfers of equity and secured lending
- Handling residential licences and advising on new-build transactions
- To liaise with clients via email, telephone and face to face in the Firm’s offices
- To deliver an excellent service to clients and agents keeping them informed at every stage of a case
- Meet and greet clients at the Firm’s offices professionally and courteously
- To liaise with clients and others on relevant matters, including assisting with the payment of fees.
- To undertake file opening and closing procedures
- Maintain up to date legal knowledge in relation to conveyancing law, ensuring changes are brought to the attention of the team
- Work proactively on own initiative, delivering good quality work in a timely manner
- Work to build positive working relationships both within the team and across the wider Firm, offering assistance and support within your capabilities
- Deputise for senior fee earners in their absence
- To be responsible, jointly with senior fee earners for encouraging new business opportunities through estate agents wherever possible
- To ensure the timely billing and collection of professional fees for the services rendered and, in all respects, to comply with the Firm's billing and collection procedures.
- Share knowledge with, and support new colleagues joining the business
- Ensure that all documentation created adheres to the Firm’s brand guidelines
- Act as an ambassador for the Firm, encouraging the use of Firm services
- Act at all times in accordance with the Firm’s policies and procedures
- To perform such other duties as are necessary for the proper discharge of the post and as may arise from time to time.

The ideal candidate
- A UK qualified Solicitor registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority
- 1-3 years of conveyancing experience
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail
- A client-focussed, commercial approach
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely both to colleagues and clients
- Confident in the use of IT systems, particularly Word and Excel
- Able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and methodical ways of working
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Able to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Able to effectively structure own workload
- A willingness to learn and grow own conveyancing knowledge and expertise
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, ethics and client service
- Able to work from our offices in Ipswich full time
