Residential Property Solicitor
NQ–5 Years’ PQE | London
£45,000–£70,000 depending on experience
We are working with an established regional Legal 500 law firm seeking a Residential Property Solicitor to join its London-based property team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an NQ or solicitor with up to five years’ PQE to join a respected, multidisciplinary practice offering high-quality work, experienced supervision and clear scope for career progression.
The Role
You will manage a varied residential property caseload, with the level of responsibility tailored to your experience. Newly qualified solicitors will receive appropriate supervision and support, while more experienced candidates will have greater autonomy over their matters.
Your caseload may include:
- Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
- Remortgages and refinancing
- Transfers of equity
- New-build transactions
- Buy-to-let and investment properties
- Lease extensions and other leasehold matters
- High-value and complex residential transactions
- Acting for individuals, investors, developers and lenders
Key Responsibilities
- Managing residential property transactions from instruction through to completion and post-completion
- Reviewing title documentation, searches, mortgage offers and supporting papers
- Drafting and reviewing contracts, transfers, reports on title and completion statements
- Raising and responding to legal enquiries
- Advising clients clearly throughout the conveyancing process
- Liaising with estate agents, lenders, brokers, solicitors and other third parties
- Managing exchange, completion, SDLT and Land Registry requirements
- Maintaining accurate files and meeting compliance, quality and regulatory standards
- Recording time, managing billing and working towards achievable financial targets
- Supporting business development and building relationships with clients and professional referrers
- Contributing positively to the continued growth of the residential property department

About You
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with between NQ and five years’ PQE
- Previous residential conveyancing experience gained during a training contract, qualifying work experience or post-qualification practice
- Sound understanding of the residential conveyancing process
- Experience of freehold and leasehold transactions
- Strong drafting, organisation and file-management skills
- Clear and professional communication with clients and third parties
- Commercially aware, proactive and attentive to detail
- Able to manage competing priorities and transaction deadlines
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a supportive team
- An interest in developing professional relationships and supporting business growth
