Residential Security Operative (RSO) Opportunity

Residential Security Operative (RSO) opportunity on a subcontracting basis near Bicester, Oxfordshire. The engagement is expected to start on 1 October 2026 and will operate on a 14-night-on, 14-day-off rotation. On-site accommodation is available for use while services are being delivered during each rotation. Applicants must be available to fulfil the complete rotation and able to reside on the Estate during that period. Subject to operational requirements and satisfactory performance, there may be opportunities for further assignments.

Task Description

This subcontracting engagement involves the delivery of residential security services on site near Bicester during agreed rotations. The Residential Security Operative will provide residential security services to protect the principal and family, personnel, premises, assets and land. Tasks include monitoring security systems and access points, conducting internal and external patrols, managing visitor access, recording and reporting incidents and faults, and responding promptly to alarms or emergencies. The operative will liaise professionally with residents, household staff and relevant stakeholders, maintain accurate records, follow site Assignment Instructions and security protocols, support site-specific risk assessments, and confirm that security systems are operating correctly.

Essential Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Close Protection Licence.
  • A recognised medical qualification equivalent to FREC 3 or First Person on Scene plus Emergency Paediatric First Aid.
  • A full clean UK driving licence.

  • Former UK Military or Police (specified by client).
  • Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service, Communication, and a focus on Customer Satisfaction.
  • Understanding of private residential and country estate environments, including the discreet service standards required when working in high-end or luxury properties.
  • Ability to build professional working relationships and support high standards of service delivery when liaising with residents, household staff, estate departments and other stakeholders.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in residential security or private estate security is essential.
  • Proven ability to remain calm under pressure, assess risk, and make sound decisions in real time.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality in private settings.
  • Applicants must be available to fulfil the complete 14-night-on, 14-night-off rotation.

Experience (Preferred)

  • Former UK Military or Police (specified by client).

Other (Essential)

  • Valid right to work in the UK.
  • As a condition of engagement, applicants must provide a full five-year checkable work history and all documentation required for screening in accordance with BS 7858. Strict confidentiality and compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR are required throughout the engagement.
