📍 Location: Enfield, North London (with opportunities across North London and Hertfordshire)
🕒 Contract: Full-Time, Part-Time & Permanent Opportunities Available
About Serenity Welfare
Serenity Welfare provides specialist support services for vulnerable children and young people who have experienced trauma, family breakdown, social exclusion, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and complex life challenges.
Our children's homes provide safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environments for young people aged 8-17, helping them build resilience, develop life skills, and achieve positive outcomes.

About the Role
As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people to feel safe, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
We believe that outstanding support workers are not defined solely by their professional experience. Whilst experience working with children and young people is highly desirable, we are equally interested in individuals who can demonstrate a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people, alongside the resilience, empathy, and commitment needed to succeed in this role.
You may have gained relevant skills through residential care, youth work, education, mentoring, coaching, social care, community work, or personal lived experience supporting vulnerable or high-risk children.
Above all, we are looking for people who place the needs of the child at the heart of everything they do.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care, support, and guidance to children and young people within the home.
- Build and maintain positive relationships that promote stability and trust.
- Support young people with their education, personal development, independence skills, and emotional wellbeing.
- Encourage participation in activities, hobbies, and positive experiences.
- Act as a Key Worker for allocated young people.
- Support young people to attend appointments, education, and community activities.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and care documentation.
- Support the daily running of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma/QCF in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or currently working towards the qualification
- Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 12 months
- Access to a vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to work flexible shift patterns, including 12-hour day and night shifts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and young people

Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience working with children and young people in residential care, supported accommodation, youth work, education, social care, or similar settings.
- Relevant lived experience supporting vulnerable or high-risk children, with demonstrable transferable skills.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to care.
Shift Pattern
The home operates a flexible rota based on the needs of the young people.
Typical shifts include:
- Day Shift: 08:00 - 20:00
- Night Shift: 20:00 - 08:00
Flexibility is essential.
