Residential Support Worker
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Location: Weston-Super-Mare
Contract/Hours: Casual - flexible shifts to fit around your lifestyle

About the Role
This is an entry-level Residential Support Worker role where you don't need previous experience or qualifications.
We’re looking for a positive attitude and the desire to give the best care to children and young people. This is a great opportunity to get your ‘foot in the door’ and allows you to explore the field of Social Care and decide if it’s the right fit for you, whilst gaining practical experience.
You’ll create a safe and supportive environment for children and young people to grow and develop, ensuring wellbeing is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy. It’s key that they stay safe and healthy and can reach their full potential.

We offer an in-depth induction process and training. Alongside this, we’ll enrol you in the qualifications you need to work in the industry, regular supervision with your line manager, team meetings, etc., will ensure you feel part of our team.
Once you’ve gained the relevant experience and qualifications, you’ll be ready to progress to the next step in your career with us.
About the Service
Our Place is a long-term therapeutic home for children aged 8–18 with learning disabilities. We provide calm, consistent care, which truly changes lives. Staff build meaningful relationships, help young people feel heard and valued, and support them to grow in confidence and resilience.
Working here means seeing real progress, including those moments when a child makes a healthier choice, regulates their emotions, or takes pride in themselves.

How You'll Help to Create Brighter Futures
You’ll be engaging in enjoyable activities both within the project and within the community. You’ll be assuming responsibility for the personal care and daily routines of the young individuals, providing support with personal hygiene, communication, administering medication, and ensuring the safeguarding of our young people by accurate recording and reporting.

Don’t worry if you’ve never worked in a similar role before, it’s your personality and personal values that matter. If you’re passionate about creating brighter futures, this could be the perfect role for you.
Ideally, you’ll:
- Understand how to engage with young people.
- Have a positive approach and ‘can do’ attitude.
- Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
- Be ready to complete a level 3 in Health and Social Care within 2 years of commencing employment with us, fully funded by us.
- Hold a full UK driving license, for the purposes of transportation of service users to appointments.
