Job Description

The Residual Value Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the Company’s residual value (RV) strategy across the UK market, ensuring that vehicle residual values support competitive whole-life costs, sustainable fleet and leasing growth, strong used vehicle performance, and long-term brand value. This is a strategically important commercial role requiring extensive knowledge of the UK automotive market, leasing and contract hire sector, vehicle valuation methodology, used vehicle dynamics, and lifecycle management. The role will work closely with Fleet, Product & Planning, Sales, Finance, Marketing, Aftersales and Used Car teams, as well as external leasing companies, RV agencies and industry data providers.

The successful candidate will be a commercially minded automotive professional with deep knowledge of residual values and the UK vehicle market. They will combine strong quantitative capability with market judgement and senior stakeholder influence. This role requires an individual who is prepared to challenge assumptions rather than simply report market data. The successful candidate will be expected to provide clear recommendations on product positioning, pricing, fleet strategy, channel exposure and lifecycle decisions where these factors may materially affect future residual values. The candidate should be capable of operating independently, influencing cross-functional decisions and establishing the Company as a credible and professional counterpart with the UK’s major leasing companies, RV setters and automotive industry stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Residual Value Strategy & Management

  • Develop and own the UK residual value strategy across the Company’s vehicle portfolio.
  • Establish RV targets and forecasts for new and existing models across different terms, mileages and vehicle lifecycle stages.
  • Continuously monitor actual and forecast residual value performance and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Develop actions to strengthen RV performance and protect long-term vehicle and brand value.
  • Ensure RV considerations are embedded into product, pricing, fleet and lifecycle management decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
