Paget Primary School is looking for an exceptional teacher to join our ASC Resource Base and play an important role in supporting our pupils to achieve their potential.

We are looking for someone who sees the child before the diagnosis and believes that every pupil should experience success, belonging and a genuine sense of achievement. You will bring warmth, patience and high expectations to your work, creating a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe, understood and valued.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and how autism can affect communication, interaction, sensory processing, emotional regulation and access to learning. You will be an excellent classroom practitioner who can adapt teaching, curriculum, environment and communication approaches to meet individual needs, while maintaining high expectations for every pupil.

Experience of working within an ASC Resource Base, specialist provision or with pupils with complex SEND would be desirable. However, we are equally interested in teachers who demonstrate the right values, commitment and willingness to develop their specialist expertise.

You will play a key role in understanding and responding to each pupil's individual needs, strengths and aspirations, ensuring these are reflected in their provision and learning experiences.

Key responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, appropriately challenging learning that is adapted to individual needs.
• Use a range of assessment approaches, including PIVATS and the Engagement Model where appropriate, alongside observation and classroom-based assessment.
• Use assessment information to identify progress, strengths and areas for development, adapting teaching and provision accordingly.
• Contribute effectively to EHCP annual reviews, helping to set and review meaningful short- and long-term outcomes.
• Support pupils to develop their communication, independence, emotional regulation and readiness to learn.
• Work closely with teaching assistants to ensure consistent, effective and purposeful support.
• Develop strong partnerships with parents and carers, ensuring their views and knowledge of their child are valued and reflected in planning and provision.
• Work collaboratively with the SENDCo, school leaders and external professionals, ensuring advice and recommendations are understood and acted upon.
• Support pupils to be part of the wider school community, providing meaningful opportunities to learn, play and participate alongside their peers wherever appropriate.
