Are you an experienced Resource Consultant, Workforce Planner, or Resource Manager looking for an opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and drive meaningful business outcomes?
We're seeking a highly collaborative and commercially-minded Resource Consultant to join our Nature Services Business Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with senior stakeholders, optimise resource allocation across a diverse project portfolio, and help develop the capability needed to support future business growth.
Working closely with the Resource Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our people are deployed effectively, our clients receive exceptional service, and our teams are empowered to develop and thrive.
The Role
As a Resource Consultant, you'll be responsible for embedding resource management best practices across the business, balancing workforce demand and capacity while supporting both operational performance and employee development.
You'll become a trusted advisor to leaders across the organisation, using workforce data, commercial insight, and strong stakeholder relationships to make informed resourcing decisions that support current and future business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Resource Planning & Optimisation
- Drive effective resource allocation across the Nature Services Business Unit.
- Monitor workload, utilisation, and resource demand to ensure optimal deployment of talent.
- Support resource levelling across UK and India-based teams, balancing project requirements with employee development opportunities.
- Deliver resource optimisation initiatives that support business performance, client outcomes, and people-focused decision making.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of resource management processes, tools, and governance.

Strategic Workforce Planning
- Develop a deep understanding of team capabilities, capacity, and future skills requirements.
- Provide insight and recommendations on resource availability, capability gaps, and succession planning opportunities.
- Support short, medium, and long-term workforce planning activities.
- Help shape future capability strategies aligned with business growth ambitions.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with Project Managers, Project Directors, Operations Directors, Team Leads, HR, Recruitment, Finance, and Learning & Development teams.
- Act as a trusted partner and advisor on workforce planning and resource-related decisions.
- Influence senior stakeholders through data-driven recommendations and commercial insight.
- Facilitate discussions around project staffing, workforce planning, and resource priorities.
Growth & Project Delivery
- Support resource planning for bids, proposals, and new business opportunities.
- Contribute to demand forecasting and workforce planning for future project wins.
- Assist in the mobilisation of major projects and programmes, ensuring resources are available when needed.
- Help create opportunities for employees to gain exposure to exciting and career-enhancing projects.
About You
You'll be an experienced resource planning or workforce management professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and has a genuine passion for helping people and projects succeed.
We're Looking For Someone With
- Significant experience in resource management, workforce planning, or project resourcing.
- Experience partnering with managers and senior stakeholders to solve complex business challenges.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
- The ability to interpret workforce data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence to influence and challenge constructively at all levels of the business.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Experience balancing commercial priorities with a people-first approach.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and personal accountability.
