About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Material Resource Planning Controller to join an established engineering and manufacturing business.

The role will be responsible for building, maintaining and communicating detailed delivery plans for specific parts and components across the supply chain, ensuring material availability supports the overall production plan.

Working closely with Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and suppliers, you will provide visibility of delivery schedules, identify potential risks and coordinate actions to ensure customer and business requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to changes in demand, assessing the impact on supply and the ability to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate component and material planning data to ensure demand is effectively communicated throughout the supply chain.
  • Plan and manage inventory across the supply chain, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained and materials are utilised effectively.
  • Ensure supplier delivery commitments are accurately reflected within the ERP system.
  • Respond to supplier enquiries and proactively manage schedule exceptions and potential delivery issues.
  • Support the introduction of new parts and components in line with relevant supply chain processes.
  • Use standard systems, processes and reporting to identify and resolve potential delivery risks.
  • Act as the primary operational contact for allocated suppliers, building effective relationships and coordinating improvement activities across planning, inventory, delivery and lead times.
  • Lead supplier business reviews, monitoring performance across Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  • Manage delivery issues, shortages and recovery plans, escalating risks where required.
  • Understand supplier capacity and workload constraints and identify where these could impact performance or delivery.

About You

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain or logistics.
  • A good understanding of production planning and material controls.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and inventory control.
  • Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to manage relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to take ownership of priorities and delivery.
  • A commitment to your own professional development.

The Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to work within a complex engineering and manufacturing environment, playing a key part in ensuring materials and components are available to support production requirements.

You will work across internal teams and the external supply chain, providing exposure to supplier management, material planning, inventory control and operational delivery.
