100% Remote role: Full-time Contractor / Freelancer

Job Description:

We are excited to be on the hunt for a talented and motivated individual to join our Gambling News Content team as a Resource & Features Editor.

In this role, you will be responsible for deploying and maintaining important content resources across a collection of sites. These resources include trackers (revenue, tax, legal, legislative etc), rankings, directories (people, orgs), indexes (States/countries by gaming index score /100) and other unique, original contexts which are often high-effort to maintain but when done correctly are able to be part of the moving conversation.

Responsibilities:

  • Commission, brief, write, and edit high-quality esports and gaming-focused features, explainers, data-pieces and informational content
  • Work with Head of Play to manage a network of freelancers and subject matter experts where gaps are identified and resource is needed
  • Conduct thorough research on esports and gaming-related topics to ensure accuracy, relevance and authority
  • Update and refresh existing content to improve its SEO performance, and maintain its relevance over time
  • Work with other teams to ensure content aligns with broader business and marketing goals.
  • Additional tasks and duties may be assigned as needed, in line with the evolving needs of the business and the department

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience writing and editing high-quality content covering gambling, igaming, or closely related industries.
  • Excellent research, fact-checking, and source evaluation skills, with a clear understanding of editorial standards and accuracy.
  • A strong working knowledge of SEO principles, including search intent, keyword research, content optimization, and content refreshes.
  • The ability to research, and turn complex topics, data, and industry developments into clear, engaging, and unique content.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, ability to be flexible with deadlines, and shift priorities when and where needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine interest in esports and gaming, with a strong understanding of the audience, and broader industry trends.
  • The ability to work independently, use sound editorial judgement, and take ownership of projects from brief through to publication.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Connections/access within the wider gambling industry to support unique content opportunities
  • Experience using SEO and analytics tools such as Ahrefs, Google Search Console, and Google Analytics.
  • Experience working with content management systems, building a content pipeline, tracking deliverables appropriately.
