About the Role

Sustainability isn't just a priority at McCain - it's a responsibility we take seriously across every site, every shift, and every decision. As our REO (Resource Efficient Operations) Manager for GB&I, you'll be at the heart of that effort, leading the deployment of our sustainability strategy across the GB&I manufacturing network and turning ambition into measurable action.

From reducing CO₂ emissions and cutting energy consumption to driving progress on water stewardship, renewable electricity and waste reduction, you'll own the environmental performance agenda across the network. Working alongside plant, engineering and regional teams, you'll bring structure where it's needed, cut through complexity, and champion consistency - all while helping to build a culture where sustainability and continuous improvement go hand in hand.

If you're ready to make a genuine environmental impact at scale, this is the role to do it in.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Drive deployment of the REO roadmap across all sites
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and internal policies
  • Track and analyse performance indicators (CO₂, water, energy, waste)
  • Develop and coordinate sustainability action plans
  • Lead the community of plant REO managers
  • Harmonise processes and governance at regional level
  • Conduct internal audits and manage relationships with authorities
  • Promote best practices and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Support initiatives to reduce environmental impact
  • Collaborate with global, regional and local teams on key projects

What You'll Need to Be Successful

  • Extensive leadership experience in industry, engineering or R&D
  • Strong understanding of industrial environments and associated KPIs
  • Proven project management experience
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001 / 50001)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Analytical, problem-solving and continuous-improvement mindset
  • Ability to support change and engage stakeholders

Benefits

Although we do encourage you to taste the goods, you'll be pleased to know we don't pay you in chips. Alongside your salary, you'll enjoy a range of benefits including:

  • Private healthcare
  • Annual bonus scheme based on both company and individual performance [delete if not applicable] with the ability to salary sacrifice into your pension
  • Annual car allowance
  • An excellent salary sacrifice pension scheme where we'll contribute double what you do, up to a maximum of 12% of your salary
  • 25 days' annual leave from day one plus bank holidays (increasing with service), giving you plenty of time to recharge with the opportunity to buy and sell up to 5 days holiday per year
  • Life insurance cover providing peace of mind for you and your family
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay, because the moments that matter outside of work matter to us too
  • Medicash health cash plan, helping you claim money back on everyday healthcare costs, with access to a virtual GP and wellbeing support

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

And because you're joining a global business, your career opportunities don't stop at the factory gate. Whether you're looking to deepen your expertise, step into leadership, or even explore opportunities internationally, we'll support your growth. With ambitious plans for the future, there's plenty of scope to develop your career with us.

About the Team

You'll be joining our Operations team, which spans both GB&I and EMENA - a broad, experienced and closely connected manufacturing community. Reporting into our Director, REO (who in turn reports into our VP, Operations EMENA), you'll also enjoy a strong dotted-line relationship and active partnership with our VP, Operations GB&I, meaning you'll be well-connected at a senior level on both sides of the network.

On the ground, you'll work alongside a high-performing manufacturing team across four plants here in GB&I - one of which sits within our global snacking business - and you'll partner closely with your counterpart leading the same agenda across Europe. While your primary focus will be GB&I, the nature of this role means you'll occasionally pick up projects, conversations and priorities in other markets too, so a flexible, collaborative mindset will go a long way.

It's a role that sits at the intersection of local delivery and regional influence - and the team around you reflects that ambition
