We are looking for a
Resources & Planning Manager – Propulsion Service Engineers
You will be based in Glasgow, United Kingdom, with hybrid working available.
As Resources Manager, you will lead and develop a team of Propulsion Service Engineers, ensuring that the right skills are available at the right place and at the right time. You will create an environment where people can grow, collaborate and deliver excellent service to our customers.
What you will do:
- Lead, coach and develop the Propulsion Service Engineers team.
- Manage assigned service delivery activities and resource requirements.
- Support competence development through coaching, mentoring and on-the-job training.
- Promote strong preparation, quality and a “first time right” approach.
- Monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure that processes and tools are followed in line with business and Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to support effective planning and service delivery.
- Build a high-performing team based on trust, collaboration and accountability.
- Contribute to action plans and ensure that business objectives and targets are achieved.
- Promote Operational Excellence and an excellent customer experience.
- Drive the Wärtsilä Purpose and demonstrate Wärtsilä values in your everyday work.
- Plan Resources for the Field Service Orders received.
- Ensure the best use and availability of the Field Service personnel encompassing coordination of Visa’s, medicals, travel documents etc.
- Maintain the Field Service Resources planning board.
- Ensuring all team members receive initial instructions and are provided with adequate information to successfully complete all tasks to expectations from Operations.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- A safety-first mindset.
- Experience in leadership, team coordination or people management.
- Experience in service delivery, preferably within the marine industry.
- Knowledge of propulsion systems and field services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
- A structured, practical and goal-oriented approach to work.
- The ability to build trust, inspire others and support people’s development.
- High integrity, accountability and a collaborative leadership style.
- The ability to identify challenges, remove obstacles and deliver results.
- Good knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Fluency in English.
