The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a shared corporate service. It provides corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT).

Job Description
The role and our team
Are you interested in joining a dynamic resourcing team that supports recruitment across both the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology? As a Resourcing Adviser, you will play a pivotal role in delivering an end-to-end recruitment service, ensuring vacancy holders and candidates receive a consistently high-quality experience.
You will act as a trusted recruitment adviser to vacancy holders, supporting them with recruitment campaigns and onboarding of successful candidates. You will work across recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring that pre-employment checks and onboarding of new starters are processed efficiently within agreed timelines. Engagement with hiring managers, candidates and third-party service providers will be required.
You will be joining a collaborative team that operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where priorities shift quickly. A minimum of 40% office attendance is expected. You will need to be organised, adaptable and confident in handling complex queries, investigating and escalating where required. You will also contribute to staff and candidate information sessions and play an active role in improving recruitment processes and service delivery.

The Resourcing Adviser will also be participating in presenting at information sessions for staff and potential candidates. The role requires strong communication skills, sound judgement and the ability to quickly understand and apply recruitment policies within a fast-paced operational context.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support and guidance to stakeholders at all levels, in line with recruitment policies, ensuring that correct process is followed and the Civil Service Commission's Recruitment Principles are adhered to.
- Progress recruitment campaigns to agreed service levels using the Civil Service Jobs system.
- Deal effectively with correspondence and queries within agreed timescales.
- Oversee pre-employment checks in accordance with departmental and Civil Service requirements.
- Deliver and maintain a high-quality service to customers. Advise hiring managers regarding best practice and recruitment options to fill positions in their area.
- Provide flexible support to the wider HR Team on projects and priority activities, covering periods of annual leave.
- You will be required to work closely with the Government Recruitment Service, adhering to its policies and principles.
- Working as part of the team is very important and you will be expected to work with a significant degree of autonomy.
- Present and contribute to sessions advising potential candidates and hiring managers.

Person specification
Essential Criteria
- Experience of working in resourcing with recruitment systems.
- Strong communicator (oral and written).
- Good IT skills (word and outlook essential, excel desirable).
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills with ability to set own priorities, re prioritise and adapt as required.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work as part of team and on own initiative.
- Candidates should hold Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), or higher, or be or willing to work towards this.

Salary and Benefits

Office attendance
The Department operates a discretionary hybrid working policy, which provides for a combination of working hours from your place of work and from your home in the UK. The current expectation for staff is to attend the office or non-home-based location for 40-60% of the time over the accounting period.

Selection process details
This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.
After submission of the first stage of your application you will be invited to complete a Civil Service Judgement Test. If you successfully pass the test, you will be invited to complete the final stage of the application.
Please complete the online tests as soon as possible (within 24-48 hours is recommended), the closing date for the tests is 23:55 on 17/08/2026 If you fail to complete the online test before the deadline your application will be withdrawn. Guidance for the test will be available when you are invited to take the test. The tests are administered online and accessed via the CS Jobs website.
You will be directed to the Talogy - True Talent – Scheduled Maintenance Window Webpage for online tests during an outage.
Please note: Our online test supplier will be performing scheduled maintenance between midday to 1pm and 4pm to midnight on 09/08/2026. You will be unable to access tests during this period.
If you are in the middle of a test when the maintenance begins, your progress will be paused. You will be able to resume your test from where you left off via your application centre once the downtime has ended. Please note that you will not be able to launch any new tests while the system is offline.

Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
