The Role:
The Adults' Health and Care (AHC) and Children's Services (CSD) Directorates provide vital support to some of the most vulnerable members of our communities. Effective workforce and recruitment governance are essential to ensuring we have the right people in the right roles at the right time to deliver our services.
As a Resourcing Advisor (Data & Governance), you'll play a key role in managing our recruitment governance processes and maintaining accurate workforce information. You'll oversee the Permission to Recruit (PTR) process, maintain organisational blueprints, provide advice and guidance to managers and stakeholders, and produce regular workforce and recruitment reporting.
Working closely with managers, colleagues, and senior leaders, you'll help ensure workforce data is accurate, recruitment activity is managed in line with agreed controls, and decision-making is supported by reliable information and insight. Alongside this, you’ll also help deliver continuous improvement through the development of tools, processes, and ways of working that enhance our efficiency.
What you’ll do:
- Manage the Permission to Recruit (PTR) process, ensuring requests are progressed in line with agreed governance and establishment controls.
- Act as the first point of contact for enquiries relating to PTRs and organisational blueprints.
- Maintain workforce establishment data, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Produce monthly and quarterly workforce and recruitment reports.
- Carry out data quality checks, investigate discrepancies, and maintain robust governance standards.
- Build effective relationships with managers and stakeholders, providing advice and support on recruitment and workforce processes.
- Contribute to improving reporting, processes, and ways of working across the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
