The Resourcing Operations Team supports recruitment across the Scottish Government, its agencies and delivery bodies. Working in partnership with hiring managers and stakeholders, we deliver recruitment campaigns that attract talented individuals into roles that make a difference to the people of Scotland.
As a Recruiter, you'll play a key role in delivering end-to-end recruitment campaigns, providing expert advice and guidance to hiring managers while ensuring an excellent candidate experience throughout the recruitment journey.
This is an exciting opportunity to develop your resourcing expertise, build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to the delivery of high-quality recruitment services across a diverse range of professions and business areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice and guidance to hiring managers on recruitment policies, processes and best practice.
- Draft and review recruitment adverts to ensure they are engaging, inclusive and aligned with organisational requirements.
- Build positive relationships with hiring managers, candidates and key stakeholders throughout the recruitment process.
- Manage a varied workload and resolve recruitment challenges, ensuring a high-quality service for candidates and stakeholders while meeting business priorities.
- Ensure recruitment processes are delivered in line with policy, governance requirements and employment legislation, identifying risks, issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Effectively manage your own workload while proactively supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge and contributing to the successful delivery of team objectives and recruitment outcomes.

Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours per week and we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. From October 2025, the Scottish Government will require staff in hybrid-compatible roles to work in-person 40% of the time, either in an office or other agreed work location. Security Checks
Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), before they can be appointed. BPSS is comprised of four main pre-employment checks – Identity, Right to work, Employment History and a Criminal Record check (unspent convictions).
