General Summary

Provides patient-centered respiratory care by assessing patients, developing care plans, and administering prescribed respiratory therapies. Operates and monitors respiratory equipment, including invasive and noninvasive ventilators, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy, Respiratory Care, or a related field.
  • Graduate of a Registered Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential must be obtained within one year of hire if not already held.
  • Current Florida Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within one year of hire when applicable.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and STABLE certifications must be obtained within one year of hire when assigned to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential at the time of application.
  • Experience in a Level II or higher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), pediatric critical care, or pediatric emergency care setting.

Salary Range

Minimum 30.64/hour - Maximum 49.02/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
