Respiratory Faster Diagnosis Clinical Nurse Specialist

We have two posts for the role of Respiratory Faster Diagnosis Clinical Nurse Specialist, with a focus to support and lead on the national lung cancer screening programme.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic Respiratory Team within ESHT to support the suspected lung cancer pathway patients. The post holder will require excellent communication skills to develop highly effective working relationships. This post will be part of the close working Respiratory team to include Consultants, Respiratory / Lung Cancer Nurse Specialists, Diagnostic Teams, Service Managers and Patient Pathway Trackers.

The applicant must be enthusiastic and self-motivated and be able to work in a busy and at times demanding environment, helping to deliver waiting time standards and enhancing patient experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Nurse/Clinical Practitioner – Respiratory
  • Clinical service delivery and caseload/pathway management for respiratory patients
  • Lung nodule and cancer surveillance pathways supporting urgent cancer referrals
  • Physical assessment and initial treatments onward referrals
  • Liaison with multidisciplinary team
