Description
The Respiratory Specialist will play a key role in driving the adoption of an innovative treatment within the respiratory therapy area across a defined UK territory. Working across both Primary Care and Secondary Care, the individual will engage with healthcare professionals and key stakeholders to improve understanding of disease management, treatment pathways, and patient outcomes in chronic respiratory conditions.
The role requires strong account management skills and the ability to navigate complex healthcare systems, influencing clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across integrated care networks, GP practices, hospitals, and community services. The Respiratory Specialist will develop and execute territory business plans, identify growth opportunities, and deliver high-quality customer engagement through a combination of face-to-face and digital interactions.
Operating within a hybrid working environment, the successful candidate will combine field-based activity with virtual customer engagement to maximise impact, reach, and customer value.
Responsibilities
- Manage a defined territory and deliver against sales, activity, and business objectives within the respiratory therapy area.
- Develop strategic relationships with healthcare professionals across Primary Care and Secondary Care, including GPs, Practice Nurses, Respiratory Nurses, Pharmacists, Consultants, and other key stakeholders.
- Deliver high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused interactions that support improved patient care and treatment outcomes.
- Develop and implement territory business plans aligned to local healthcare priorities and national objectives.
- Identify opportunities to influence treatment pathways and improve access to appropriate respiratory therapies.
- Use data, insights, and customer intelligence to prioritise accounts and optimise resource allocation.
- Deliver clinical and value-based discussions that support evidence-based decision making.
- Build and maintain relationships with local opinion leaders and respiratory stakeholders to support advocacy and partnership opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional colleagues including Medical, Market Access, Marketing, and Commercial teams.
- Utilise CRM systems and digital engagement platforms to support account planning and customer interactions.
- Monitor local market dynamics, competitor activity, and healthcare system changes to inform territory strategy.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with industry regulations, compliance standards, and company procedures.
- Balance face-to-face customer engagement with virtual interactions to maximise effectiveness within a hybrid working model.

Requirements
Education:
- Meets all legal requirements for pharmaceutical sales representatives within the UK.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred.
- Full UK driving licence.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven pharmaceutical sales experience within Respiratory, Primary Care, Secondary Care, or a related therapy area.
- Demonstrated success delivering sales growth and influencing prescribing behaviour in a competitive environment.
- Experience engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across the NHS, including GPs, Practice Nurses, Pulmonologists, Allergists, Hospital Specialists, Pharmacists, and Integrated Care Systems (ICSs).
- Strong understanding of NHS structures, local healthcare economies, and account management principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Skilled in both face-to-face and digital customer engagement.
- Strong analytical, planning, and organisational capabilities.
- Ability to interpret data and convert insights into effective territory actions.
- Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Proficient with CRM systems and digital engagement tools.
- Self-motivated, resilient, accountable, and driven to achieve results.
