  • Location: Woking, Surrey
  • Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week, working shifts Mon–Sun, some flexibility required)
  • Salary: £31,540–£33,210 per annum

About the Role

At Surrey Choices, we empower individuals with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives by providing innovative, person-centred support. We are expanding our CQC Registered/Regulated Short Breaks services for people with Learning Disabilities and Complex Needs, delivering overnight respite in Woking and Banstead.

We seek a skilled Deputy Manager to join the Short Breaks team at Emily Lodge, Woking. Supporting the Registered Manager, you’ll oversee daily operations of an 8-bed respite service, ensuring:

  • Continuous compliance with CQC’s Regulatory Framework and Care Act obligations.

You’ll champion innovation, collaborate with other service leads, and ensure Surrey Choices’ vision — choice, engagement, and positive outcomes — remains central.

Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Directly assist in the management of an overnight respite service, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, quality assurance, and best practice guidelines.
  • Actively promote empowerment, choice, and control for individuals with disabilities.
  • Support recruitment, training, and development of multidisciplinary staff.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and referring practitioners (Surrey County Council) on service transitions.
  • Implement and maintain equipment and building infrastructure for the service.
  • Lead by example to foster a culture of compassion, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
