The Strategic Sourcing Leader – Supplier Development and Performance
The Strategic Sourcing Leader – Supplier Development and Performance will be responsible for managing supplier panel performance through structured governance, regular performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role works closely with the Supplier Quality Development team to ensure that supplier development strategies are defined, implemented, and measured effectively.
The Strategic Sourcing Leader owns the supplier qualification process in collaboration with Supplier Quality, Engineering, Operations, Sourcing, and Procurement teams. The role serves as the primary interface for the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and is responsible for building and maintaining a proactive qualification plan based on business growth plans, sourcing strategies, and demand forecasts.
The position also consolidates and drives supplier capacity data provided by Commodity Leaders to support capacity planning throughout S&OP cycles and ensure ongoing alignment between demand and supplier capabilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with Supplier Quality teams, Sourcing & Procurement leaders across the various P&Ls, Commodity Leaders/Lead Buyers, Engineering teams, and Sales & Operations Planning stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Member of the central Sourcing organization responsible for defining the Sourcing & Procurement strategy for Arabelle Solutions' Services and New Build businesses.
- Acts as the key point of contact for Sourcing & Procurement leaders across product lines (P&Ls) and the Executive Committee (COMEX) regarding supplier development and supplier performance.
- Provides proactive support to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and P&L Sourcing & Procurement teams, while contributing to P&L sourcing strategies, Inquiry-to-Order (ITO) strategies, and Order-to-Remittance (OTR) commodity strategies.
Scope
All sourcing categories (managed or unmanaged), as well as internal and external suppliers where required and applicable.
Key Responsibilities (Strategic)
- Supplier Development & Performance Strategy
- Define and maintain the supplier development and supplier performance management strategy.
- Establish long-term supplier capacity development roadmaps for strategic and critical suppliers.
- Develop supplier capacity management processes to support business growth and S&OP requirements.
- Ensure proactive supplier qualification strategies are defined and aligned with sourcing roadmaps, new product introductions, and capacity expansion plans.
- Define governance models and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier qualification, readiness, and performance.
- Support operational risk reduction through proactive supplier development and qualification initiatives.
- Ensure the supplier base remains continuously qualified and that supplier databases are maintained and up to date.

Key Responsibilities (Operational)

Supplier Performance Management
- Lead supplier performance reviews and establish regular governance mechanisms.
- Drive supplier corrective action plans in collaboration with Supplier Quality, Operational Procurement, and Engineering teams.
- Ensure improvement and development plans are implemented whenever performance gaps are identified during or after qualification activities.

Supplier Qualification
- Lead the end-to-end supplier qualification process and ensure compliance with established procedures and governance requirements.
- Develop proactive qualification plans based on demand forecasts, sourcing strategies, new product introduction roadmaps, and business growth plans.
- Maintain visibility over qualification requirements across all commodities and operational units.
- Coordinate qualification activities with Supplier Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement stakeholders.
- Ensure qualification activities are completed on time and in accordance with business needs.
- Maintain an up-to-date, compliant, and business-ready qualified supplier panel.
- Monitor qualification lead times and drive process improvements.

Supplier Capacity Management & S&OP
- Coordinate Commodity and Procurement Leaders' inputs with S&OP teams.
- Collect, validate, and consolidate capacity data from strategic suppliers.
- Translate supplier capacity information into actionable analyses for the S&OP process.
- Identify short-, medium-, and long-term capacity constraints.
- Develop mitigation plans to address potential bottlenecks and supply risks in coordination with Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Procurement teams.
Key Authorities & Stakeholder Interactions
- Work closely with Supplier Quality teams to ensure alignment between supplier qualification, performance, and development activities.
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing teams and Commodity Managers to anticipate and address future supplier needs.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and S&OP teams to ensure supplier visibility, capacity, and availability.
- Represent supplier readiness and supplier capacity topics during operational and executive reviews.
- Develop collaborative relationships with key suppliers.
Additional Responsibilities
- Promote the interests and image of the Sourcing function.
- Occasional travel is required.

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Certification in Procurement, Supply Chain, and/or Quality is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of Sourcing and Procurement activities.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement, Sourcing, Supply Chain Management, Supplier Development, or Supplier Quality.
- Proven experience managing supplier performance and supplier development programs.
- Good understanding of the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
- Strong knowledge of supplier qualification processes.
- Experience working within a complex international environment.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- The Strategic Sourcing Leader – Supplier Development and Performance will be assessed on, among others:
- Supplier performance, including annual reduction of NCRs (Non-Conformity Reports).
- Number of supplier development plans validated and implemented.
- Percentage of suppliers within the panel with validated capacity assessments.
- Supply chain stability, measured by the number or percentage of supply disruptions between bidding and execution phases, and from one project to another.
- Securing critical raw materials in line with S&OP demand requirements.
- Compliance with sanctions, international trade, and sovereignty requirements.
- Accuracy and completeness of data provided to the S&OP process.
- Supplier panel maturity, measured by the percentage of qualified suppliers with up-to-date information in the supplier database.
