We're looking for a Responsible Business Specialist
We're looking for a Responsible Business Specialist to play a central role in delivering Browne Jacobson's social value commitments and responsible business programme.
The role
As a Responsible Business Specialist, you'll be joining us at a defining moment in Browne Jacobson's journey as a responsible business. You will be part of a brand-new, delivery-led Responsible Business team, bringing together activity currently dispersed across different programmes; client social value, pro bono, volunteering, community action and fundraising, and employability outreach, into one coherent programme that is easy for colleagues to participate in, credible for clients, and measurable for internal and external reporting.
Working closely with and supporting the Responsible Business Lead, you will play a central role in how our social value commitments are offered, planned, delivered and measured for our clients, as well as supporting the firm's broader responsible business activity, including pro bono, community action, charity partnerships and colleague volunteering. This role supports our clients to make a tangibly positive impact on the people and communities in which they operate, contributing to greater inclusive economic and social outcomes for all involved.
The role can be based in any of our UK offices, with regular travel across the UK and Ireland to facilitate in-person delivery of projects, events and community sessions. All travel costs are covered upfront.
What you'll be doing
- Support the design and delivery of social value programmes and activities, both online and in person, across a portfolio of client commitments and firm-led initiatives, collaborating with internal stakeholders, clients, schools, colleges, universities, charities and community organisations to maximise impact.
- Co-ordinate the firm's pro bono activity, support charity partnerships, and organise community action events such as volunteering days, charity challenges and local partnership initiatives, ensuring strong colleague engagement and clear impact measurement.
- Produce clear, accurate and compelling reports and impact summaries that demonstrate the value of all activities and develop case studies and narrative content that highlight best practice and tangible client and community impact.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
