Role Description

The Responsible Individual role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bognor Regis. The role involves overseeing the safe and effective delivery of designated services, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

The Responsible Individual will collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams, contribute to audits and reviews, and take part in meetings to improve service quality and patient experience. The postholder is expected to model NHS values, promote a culture of accountability, and support continuous improvement within their area of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in a health, social care, or public service environment with responsibility for service delivery, governance, or compliance.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage risk, and meet deadlines in a busy setting.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, service users, families, and external partners.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and NHS policies, or a willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation, prepare reports, and contribute to audits, inspections, and quality improvement activities.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and to promoting the rights, dignity, and safety of all service users.
  • Competence with standard IT tools (e.g., email, electronic records systems, spreadsheets) and willingness to learn local systems.
  • Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in health, social care, or management; registration with a professional body is desirable where applicable.
