Our Role
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a rare opportunity to shape how responsible research and innovation (RRI) is embedded across a major European advanced materials funding programme. The University of Edinburgh has been awarded European Commission Horizon Europe funding to participate in M-ERA.NET 4 leading a task on the development and operationalisation of RRI across the programme. As Responsible Innovation Manager, you will refine and update guidance and training on responsible research and innovation in materials science for a 46-organisation, 34-country network coordinating over €150 million in public R&I funding, ensuring advanced materials science is aligned with societal values and needs, and making a positive impact through increasingly responsible approaches to advanced materials research and innovation in Europe and beyond.
This post is part-time (14 hours per week / 0.4 FTE) and fixed-term for 12 months, with the possibility of extension. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours or flexible working patterns. We also support hybrid working on a non-contractual basis, offering a blend of home and on-site working to help you balance work and life effectively.
The salary for this post is Grade 8, £48,137 to £58,379 per annum pro rata.
The Experience And Qualities We Are Looking For
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of RRI
- Relevant Higher Education degree and applied experience in complementary areas
- Ability to engage with technical content of materials science
- Experience of undertaking stakeholder engagement and analysis
- Experience of managing projects from inception to closure, to deliver agreed objectives
