Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and intellectually curious graduate to join BSP's Responsible Investment team in London for a 12-month internship. The role provides broad exposure to responsible investment within a global alternative credit manager, spanning investment integration, portfolio monitoring and reporting, investor engagement, industry research, and external communications.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Global Head of Responsible Investments and predominantly focus on BSP US coverage. The candidate will collaborate with investment teams, Product Management, Investor Relations, Business Development, Marketing, Compliance, and other functions across BSP. Previous relevant experience is helpful but not required; analytical ability, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in responsible investment and credit markets are more important.

Please note that this is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in London, commencing as soon as possible. Applicants should have completed their undergraduate degree prior to joining.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Investment Integration, Research & Engagement
- Support investment and credit research teams in identifying and analyzing material ESG risks and opportunities, including company, sector, and thematic research.
- Assist with BSP's responsible investment frameworks, portfolio monitoring, and research to support engagement with portfolio companies.
Data, Monitoring & Reporting
- Assist with the collection, review, and analysis of responsible investment data and support recurring internal and external reporting.
- Help maintain data quality and improve the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of RI monitoring and reporting processes.
Investor / LP Engagement, RFPs & DDQs, Product & Marketing Support
- Support responsible investment-related investor and consultant requests, including RFPs, DDQs, and other information requests.
- Assist Product Management, Investor Relations, Business Development with presentations, reports, and materials for investor engagement.
Industry Collaboration, Press & Marketing
- Support BSP's participation in relevant industry initiatives and monitor market developments, emerging themes, and responsible investment practices.
- Assist with thought leadership, press, and marketing content and other external communications relating to responsible investment.
Regulation, Frameworks & Process Improvement
- Help monitor relevant regulatory and policy developments and support enhancements to BSP's responsible investment policies, frameworks, and processes.
- Help identify opportunities to improve RI workflows through better use of data, technology, automation, and appropriate use of AI tools.
Qualifications / Skills

Qualifications & experience:
- A bachelor's or master’s degree, completed prior to joining, ideally in Mathematics, Economics, Business Management, Science, Climate, Sustainability, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar subjects.
- Up to approximately one year of relevant professional experience, including internships, is helpful but not essential.
Product knowledge:
- A demonstrated interest in responsible investment, ESG, and climate science.
- Some understanding of credit markets & asset management would be positive (previous experience in a different asset class would also be valued).
- An ability and eagerness to develop knowledge with respect to BSP sub-investment grade credit strategies and wider business is essential.
Skills:
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to work confidently with quantitative and qualitative information.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; an interest in data, technology, and AI-enabled process improvement is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks and communications.

- Intellectual curiosity, sound problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to show initiative, manage processes, work collaboratively, and deliver output independently (i.e., self-sufficient) once trained.
