About the Role

This is a great opportunity to take the first steps in your hospitality career and work as part of the Food & Beverage Team with Surya Hotels, reporting to and working with the hotel’s Senior management team to maximise guest experience. In a new era in hospitality, make your mark and really drive it forwards, embracing our ‘Ownership with Personality’ values.

High on a wooded ridge, the Hog’s Back Hotel’s distinctive façade has been a welcome sight for travellers on this road for generations.

Step inside and the accent is on classic comfort, from the stylish restaurant and bar to the 96 spacious, light-filled bedrooms. A high-spec spa and pool meanwhile invite relaxation – or invigoration in the Hog’s Back Leisure Club gym. The location could hardly be better. Historic Guildford and the Surrey Hills are on your doorstep, and some of the UK’s leading attractions are a short hop by car, from Legoland and royal Windsor to the thrills of Thorpe Park.

Requirements

To be a successful part of our food & beverage team you will need:

  • A positive, can-do attitude towards all customers and other team members.
  • Thirst for knowledge towards learning all things food and drink related, learning about spirits, wines, cocktails and the “perfect serve” to each customer.
  • A willingness to learn about different food styles and service, learn the menus and understand how to explain each dish to customers.
  • Great communicator that enjoys interacting with customers in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

In return we ask for:

  • Give great service to guests - taking guests orders, serving food & drinks, taking payments and giving great service to customers.
  • Meet all site standards of service & work within the team leading to a great guest experience.
  • Have/develop a good understanding serving coffees, alcohol and wine to both a bar and restaurant environment.
  • Opening and closing shifts which will include weekends & bank holidays on a pro rata basis.
  • A willingness to continue your development with both in-house and external training sessions.
