The Exciting Opportunity
We're looking for a warm, engaging and highly organised Restaurant Host to join the team at The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery Liverpool and become the first smile our guests see when they enter Palm Court.
As the face of one of Liverpool's most iconic luxury destinations, you will play a key role in creating memorable first impressions, managing reservations and ensuring every guest receives a seamless and personalised welcome from the moment they arrive. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on delivering exceptional hospitality, enjoys engaging with people and takes pride in creating unforgettable guest experiences.
We opened the first 5* Hotel in Liverpool; The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery in May 2023 and have reset the clock within this historic building, bringing it back to life. Our Heartists® aspire to create memorable, heartfelt moments for all life enjoyers to experience unique stories from the past whilst creating their own magical MGallery moments. Home to 179 luxurious bedrooms, exceptional dining experiences, vibrant bars and a world-class spa, The Municipal offers guests the opportunity to pause the clock and enjoy a truly unique hospitality experience.
A Day in the Life of a Restaurant Host at The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery
What You'll Be Doing...
Working closely with the Palm Court management team, you'll be responsible for delivering a warm and exceptional guest arrival experience whilst ensuring the smooth coordination of reservations and table plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for guests visiting Palm Court, delivering a professional, warm and memorable welcome.
- Manage reservations through ResDiary, ensuring all guest information, preferences and special requests are recorded accurately.
- Escort guests to their tables and support a seamless arrival experience.
- Create and manage daily table plans to maximise guest flow and operational efficiency.
- Liaise closely with restaurant, bar and kitchen teams to coordinate service and guest requirements.
- Manage waitlists, walk-ins and booking amendments professionally and efficiently.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of menus, afternoon tea offerings, allergens and promotions.
- Communicate guest celebrations, VIP arrivals and dietary requirements to the wider team.
- Support revenue opportunities through thoughtful recommendations and upselling of premium experiences where appropriate.
- Ensure the hosting station and guest arrival area remain immaculate and aligned with our luxury brand standards.

What We Need From You
- Previous experience in a hospitality, guest service, reception or host role would be advantageous.
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confidence managing reservations and working in a fast-paced environment.
- A professional and polished approach, reflecting five-star service standards.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure whilst maintaining a warm and welcoming presence.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and peak seasonal periods.
- A positive, team-focused attitude and a desire to contribute to a successful and supportive culture.
