The Blakeney Hotel
The Blakeney Hotel is an award-winning, four-star, 64-bedroom, privately owned and family-run hotel located in an unrivalled position on the Quay in Blakeney on the North Norfolk coast.
Our passionate and dedicated team provide an attentive service, putting the guest experience at the heart of everything that they do. Our menus incorporate fresh, seasonal and locally sourced produce for both resident and non-resident guests to enjoy in a relaxed dining environment with stunning views over The Estuary.
Role of the Restaurant Manager
- Facilitate the smooth running of the Restaurant throughout each service.
- Responsible for managing the restaurant team to ensure a high level of customer service.
- Hold daily department team briefings, ensuring all appropriate information and updates are communicated to the team, including the menu and any special requirements.
- Liaise with the Head Chef and kitchen team as well as other departments.
- Work in a hands-on capacity leading from the front.
- Coach and mentor the team, identify training needs and manage performance.
- Deal with guest comments in a polite and pleasant manner, resolving complaints wherever possible.
- Delegation of duties within the department.
- Prepare rotas and coordinate staff levels according to business needs.
- Maintain and uphold all health and safety and hygiene practices.
- Attend management meetings, as required.

Experience / Skills of the Restaurant Manager
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in restaurant management or supervisory role (required).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Immaculate personal presentation with a genuine smile.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Flexible and adaptable to respond to differing guest needs.
- Confident, enthusiastic and motivated to deliver great service.
- Proven people management experience, including managing poor performance, training and development.
- Experience of working in a restaurant serving high-quality food and providing a luxury dining experience (desirable).
- Computer literacy is helpful, and a willingness to learn and use hospitality software.
- Experience of working with multiple departments to achieve results.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills including communication and team building.
- An awareness of Health and Safety regulations and ensuring compliance.
- Strong team working ethic with the capability to take responsibility for the team.
- Work well under pressure.

Contract type
Permanent, full-time (45 hours per week). This role will involve working 5 days out of 7, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
