About Tanvis
Tanvis Indian Cuisine is a well-established Indian restaurant in Wakefield, proudly rated 4.9 stars with 1,000+ Google reviews. As we expand into York, we are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to help us build a strong, consistent and profitable operation across both locations.
The Role
This is a practical leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the business. You will oversee operations across our Wakefield and York restaurants, working closely with our Floor Managers, Kitchen Manager, Business Development Manager, Supervisors and chefs.
You will help ensure that people, food, service, finances and marketing work together to deliver excellent customer experiences and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all aspects of restaurant day-to-day operations across all restaurants, including food preparation, cooking, serving, and customer service to deliver top-tier hospitality experiences.
- Take ownership of the operational planning and support the successful launch and development of the new branch.
- Mentor, coach and hold Floor Managers, Kitchen Managers, Supervisors and chefs accountable for performance.
- Monitor P&L, budgets, labour costs, food costs and overall profitability.
- Work with the Business Development Manager on sales, promotions, local partnerships and marketing initiatives.
- Monitor and maintain consistent standards for food quality, service, cleanliness and customer experience.
- Review KPIs and operational performance, identify issues and turn them into practical actions.
- Improve systems, procedures and team communication as the company grows.
- Support recruitment, training, staff development and performance management.
- Ensure food safety, health & safety, licensing and operational compliance are maintained.
- Regularly visit both locations and provide clear feedback and direction to the management teams.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality operations, ideally with multi-site responsibility.
- Strong leadership and people-management skills.
- Good understanding of restaurant P&L, budgeting, costs and profitability.
- Confident coaching managers and holding teams accountable.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, food handling procedures, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Commercially minded, organised and able to make decisions.
- Hands-on approach — willing to step into the operation and lead from the front.
- Passion for hospitality, customer experience and developing people.
- Flexible to travel between Wakefield and York.

- Contract: 3 months
- Hours: 20 hours per week
- Pay: £15–£20 per hour, depending on experience
