Restoration Forth Project Manager

This is a fixed-term role for 18 months.

Skills and experience

You’ll bring the following skills and experience to succeed in this role:

Essential

• Significant experience managing complex projects or programmes including developing and managing plans, milestones, budgets, risks and delivery priorities.
• Experience managing externally funded or grant-funded projects, including meeting funding conditions, reporting, evidence and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing project budgets and finances, including forecasting expenditure, monitoring spend and taking action to address risks or variances.
• Experience managing and coordinating multiple partners and stakeholders, including consultants, delivery partners, steering groups or cross-functional teams, to achieve agreed outcomes.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, facilitation and influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly, build agreement and maintain effective partnerships with a range of audiences.
• Sound judgement, problem-solving and risk-management skills, including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage competing priorities and know when to escalate.

Desirable

• Experience working with major grant funders, such as the National Lottery Heritage Fund, including funding applications, claims and reports.
• Knowledge or experience of marine, coastal, environmental or nature restoration programmes, particularly in Scotland.
• Understanding of how community engagement can support long-term environmental and restoration outcomes.
• Experience developing projects from an initial or development phase into full delivery.
• Experience representing a project or organisation externally, including at meetings, events, conferences or in the media.

This is a UK-based contract, and you are required to have the Right to Work in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer sponsorship and any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your Right to Work in the UK.

This role is hybrid with a minimum 40% of your contracted hours in person collaboration, either in our Edinburgh office, or on project site working with partners.
