Restructuring Associate – Global Law Firm

The Role
You will join the firm’s top-tier restructuring & insolvency team - a practice recognised for executing some of the most sophisticated transactions across diverse markets. The group advises stakeholders across the capital structure on mandates which include:
- Domestic and cross-border restructurings using innovative tools and processes
- Liability management exercises and exchange offers
- Formal insolvency proceedings and contingency planning for distressed situations
- Capital solutions through new money capital raises and bespoke financing structures
- Distressed M&A transactions, including acquisitions of assets and complex spin-outs
- Advisory work for boards, sponsors and funds facing high-stakes financial stress

Typical matters involve multiple jurisdictions, regulatory challenges and competing stakeholder interests, requiring technical excellence and imaginative problem-solving.
You will work across a variety of industries including energy and natural resources, infrastructure, financial services, healthcare, retail, consumer goods, industrial manufacturing, aviation and shipping. Many transactions involve novel restructuring techniques, the latest legislative tools and negotiations with numerous global parties.
What They’re Looking For
- A qualified lawyer (England & Wales or equivalent) with 2–5 years PQE in restructuring and insolvency
- Strong understanding of restructuring frameworks, debt and capital instruments
- Experience advising on financial restructuring transactions or formal insolvency situations
- Excellent drafting, analytical and strategic advisory skills
- Adaptability to work across multi-jurisdictional, complex mandates in a fast-paced environment
- A collaborative approach with commercial awareness and strong client-handling ability
