Lead complex restructuring engagements and make a real impact
A leading Big 4 firm is looking for an experienced Restructuring Director to join its Financial Restructuring team.
This is a senior opportunity for someone who combines strong technical restructuring expertise with commercial judgement, leadership capability and an established market network. You’ll take a leading role on complex assignments, working closely with Partners, clients and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to develop and deliver pragmatic solutions for stressed and distressed businesses.
You’ll have significant responsibility from day one, with the opportunity to shape engagements, develop people and strengthen relationships across the market.
What you’ll be doing as a Restructuring Director, you’ll:
- Lead restructuring engagements from scoping through to completion, working closely with the engagement Partner.
- Define engagement scope and develop pragmatic, commercially focused approaches to complex restructuring challenges.
- Project-manage multidisciplinary teams and coordinate specialist workstreams and deliverables.
- Lead financial analysis, scenario modelling and options analysis to support critical business decisions.
- Advise on contingency planning, liquidity, business reviews and formal corporate insolvency situations.
- Prepare and present clear, compelling reports, presentations and other deliverables for clients and stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, business intermediaries and other market contacts.
- Work collaboratively with specialist teams across the firm to bring the right expertise to client situations.
- Identify opportunities to develop new and existing client relationships and contribute actively to business development.
- Coach, mentor and develop team members, sharing your technical expertise and experience.
- Contribute to training, recruitment, team development and wellbeing initiatives.
- Maintain a strong focus on risk management and professional standards across all engagements.

What we’re looking for:
You’ll ideally have:
- Significant experience leading restructuring engagements and teams.
- Experience across options analysis, contingency planning and formal corporate insolvencies.
- Experience in financial advisory, business reviews, comparator reports for Schemes/Restructuring Plans and liquidity reviews.
- Strong financial analysis and scenario-modelling capabilities, with an understanding of the drivers of corporate failure and underperformance.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting complex findings to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen and the ability to translate analysis into practical recommendations.
- A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
- Ideally, a pass in the JIEB corporate exam paper.
- A strong appreciation of the risks involved in advising stressed and distressed businesses and their stakeholders.
- Proven experience supervising, coaching and mentoring people.
