Turnaround & Restructuring Lead/Director — Corporate Finance Boutique | London

We're working with a fast-growing, entrepreneurial Corporate Finance boutique that's launching a brand-new Restructuring service line alongside its established Debt Advisory and M&A practices — and they need someone to lead origination from day one.

This isn't a "join an established machine and wait your turn" role. It's for someone who's built a network over the years — insolvency practitioners, turnaround investors, lenders, PE sponsors, NEDs — and is ready to put that network to work for themselves, not just for a larger advisory P&L.

What makes this role stand out:

  • Delivery capacity already exists — analysts, modellers and Associate Directors are in place, so your pipeline converts straight into revenue rather than getting stuck behind a hiring plans or red tape.
  • A bonus structure more commonly seen in investment banking than boutique advisory — genuinely market-beating, up to 100% of your base salary.
  • Real autonomy — you shape the go-to-market strategy directly with the CEO, no layers of sign-off.
  • Backed by the experience of operating over 13+ years, 600+ mandates and a 1,500+ capital partner network across the UK, Europe, India and SE Asia/APAC.
  • A true "greenfield" opportunity — help define how Restructuring operates as the firm scales and have the autonomy to make decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You'll likely be a strong fit if you:

  • Have 10+ years in restructuring, turnaround or advisory (professional services or boutique background).
  • Have a track record of originating and winning mandates independently — not just executing them.
  • Are looking to monetise a network you've spent years building, rather than have it sit behind someone else's brand.
  • Want more autonomy and upside than a traditional advisory house offers.
