The Firm:
A renowned independent law firm with a close-knit and collegiate Litigation department is seeking an ambitious Associate / Senior Associate to join its growing Restructuring & Insolvency team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside recognised specialists, advise an impressive client base and play an increasingly important role within a thriving practice.

The Restructuring & Insolvency team has experienced continued growth in response to increasing client demand and advises companies, directors, office holders, lenders, creditors, investors and high-net-worth individuals across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters. Working closely alongside the firm's wider Litigation, Corporate and Banking teams, the department delivers commercially focused advice on complex domestic and cross-border matters.

The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Restructuring & Insolvency Associate / Senior Associate (4 - 6 PQE) to join a forward-thinking and expanding team with outstanding mentoring and genuine long-term career prospects.
You will advise clients across a broad range of corporate and personal insolvency matters, assisting on complex restructurings, formal insolvency procedures, insolvency litigation, director and shareholder disputes, recovery actions and contentious insolvency proceedings. Alongside managing your own varied caseload, you will work closely with partners on significant matters while taking an increasingly prominent role in client relationships and strategic case management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on legal strategy
- Drafting court documents and technical correspondence
- Negotiating settlements
- Attending meetings with clients and opposing parties
- Representing clients throughout disputes where appropriate
You will regularly instruct leading counsel on complex matters and work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider disputes practice to deliver commercially driven solutions.
As you continue to develop, you will play an active role in supervising trainee solicitors and junior lawyers, supporting the growth of the team and contributing to business development initiatives that strengthen the department's market presence.
Working alongside highly experienced partners, you will gain exposure to sophisticated and high-profile matters whilst continuing to build your own reputation within a leading independent City practice.

Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with 4 - 6 years' PQE (England & Wales) with strong experience in Restructuring & Insolvency.
- Excellent technical ability with strong communication and client relationship management skills.
- Experience managing a varied caseload with the confidence to supervise and delegate work where appropriate.
- Commercially minded with strong judgement, resilience and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach.
- A genuine interest in business development and building long-term client relationships.
- Team-oriented with the flexibility to thrive within the firm's collaborative hybrid working environment.
