About the Role
We are seeking an experienced restructuring and insolvency professional to join our senior leadership team at Director level or above. The successful candidate will be a recognised market practitioner with strong technical expertise across corporate restructuring, insolvency and advisory engagements, combined with a proven track record of business development and work origination.
This is a leadership role requiring an individual who can leverage an established network of professional contacts to generate new opportunities, lead complex assignments, support the continued growth of the business, and mentor and develop a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Market Presence
- Generate new restructuring, insolvency and advisory assignments through personal business development activity.
- Maintain and further develop an established network of referrers including:
- Banks and financial institutions
- Solicitors
- Accountants and professional advisers
- Asset-based lenders and alternative funders
- Private equity and investment contacts
- Build and execute strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth.
- Represent the firm at networking events, industry forums and client meetings.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across service lines.
- Act as a senior ambassador for the firm in the marketplace, enhancing profile and reputation.
Technical Delivery
- Lead and oversee a wide range of corporate restructuring and insolvency appointments.
- Provide technical leadership across engagements including:
- Administrations
- Liquidations (CVL, MVL and compulsory)
- Receiverships
- Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs)
- Independent business reviews
- Contingency planning assignments
- Distressed M&A processes
- Turnaround engagements
- Stakeholder negotiations
- Advise lenders, directors, shareholders and other stakeholders on restructuring options and insolvency processes.
- Ensure all engagements are delivered to the highest professional, regulatory and technical standards.
- Provide guidance and quality review on complex and contentious cases.
- Personal Insolvency (Desirable)
- Technical experience across personal insolvency engagements would be advantageous, including:
- Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs)
- Bankruptcies
- Debt solutions and restructuring options
- Support the wider team in personal insolvency matters where required.

Leadership & People Management
- Lead, supervise and develop restructuring teams across multiple engagements.
- Act as a mentor to managers and emerging leaders within the practice.
- Support recruitment, retention and succession planning initiatives.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, commercial awareness and client service.
- Contribute to the strategic direction and growth plans of the restructuring practice.

Essential Experience
- Significant experience within restructuring, insolvency and advisory services.
- Demonstrable track record of leading complex corporate insolvency and restructuring assignments.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK insolvency legislation, regulation and best practice.
- Established business development credentials with evidence of originating and winning work.
- Strong existing referral network among banks, solicitors, accountants and other professional intermediaries.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain senior stakeholder relationships.
- Experience leading and managing high-performing teams.
Technical Competencies
- Expert knowledge of corporate insolvency procedures and restructuring solutions.
- Strong commercial judgement and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder situations and negotiations.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis and business viability assessments.

- Commercially driven and entrepreneurial.
- Highly credible with clients, referrers and key stakeholders.
- Natural relationship builder with strong networking capabilities.
- Leadership presence with the ability to inspire confidence and drive performance.

Qualifications
- Relevant professional qualification desirable but not essential (JIEB, ACA, ACCA, CAI or equivalent).
- Licensed Insolvency Practitioner preferred, or a clear pathway towards appointment.
- Significant experience within restructuring and insolvency.

- Lead and successfully deliver complex restructuring and insolvency assignments.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key referral sources.
- Contribute to the development, performance and growth of the restructuring team.
- Play a key role in achieving the firm's strategic growth objectives.
