Retail Account Manager

The Job Role

As Retail Account Manager you will work closely with the Account Director and the wider retail team in delivering a high-level service to our major retail accounts.

You will be responsible for managing the many key mobile brands across Westcoast profile into some of our largest retail customers; to assist in growing revenue & profit and managing product availability through forecast analysis. Attending both customer and vendor meetings; analysing stock and sales information as well as retailer forecasts, presenting performance data, making order recommendations to both external customers and Westcoast product managers whilst strengthening Westcoast’s relationship with our key retail partners and growing the portfolio of brands that we supply.

The ideal candidate will have experience working collaboratively with major retailers such as; The Very Group, AO Group & similar dropship focused account sets.

The role is based in Westcoast Theale, (Reading) office with an expectation that you would attend off-site customer / vendor visits when required.

  • Work collaboratively with appropriate vendor/retail contacts
  • Conduct & contribute to retailer/vendor meetings
  • Monitor weekly stock and sales
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools to track and enhance inventory flow
  • Maximise profitability
  • Manage, implement, and analyse all promotional activity
  • Manage the delivery of any pre-agreed performance KPIs with the retail accounts. Putting corrective measures in place as required.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the setup of new products and price updates to existing products
  • Manage the launch of new ranges ensuring 100% product availability
  • Build and maintain client relationships

Is this the role for you?

To be successful in this role you will have some of the following skills and experience and the desire to develop in other areas:

  • Background in retail account management, retail category management or FMCG account management essential
  • Ideally have historical experience with retailers such as; The Very Group, AO Group, Dropship retail accounts
  • Good understanding of supply chain & logistics in a retail environment
  • Commercially minded with excellent communication skills
  • Analytical - able to spot trends and draw conclusions from data and make stock recommendations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to develop strong business relationships
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and with changing priorities and workload
  • Able to negotiate with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ideally, full driver’s license
