Are you an organised, proactive administrator who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of pets in need?
Joining our team as a Retail Administration Assistant, you will play an essential behind the scenes role in keeping our retail operations running smoothly, ensuring our shops have everything they need to raise life saving funds.
More about the role
Blue Cross is a leading UK animal welfare charity with over 50 retail shops across England and Wales. Our retail operations are essential in raising funds that support our mission of caring for sick, injured, and homeless pets, helping over 40,000 animals each year through rehoming, veterinary, and education programmes.
Based at our Hartlebury office, home to both our retail team and warehouse, you'll be at the centre of our operations where your role will provide crucial administrative support to our retail team, assisting with logistics and coordination to keep things running smoothly. This is a part-time role, working 14 hours per week, Monday & Tuesday 8am - 4pm.
We need you to be a strong communicator in both written and verbal communication and be confident working with multiple pieces of software, systems, and digital tools. As you will be responsible for keeping systems and filing up to date and organised, having good attention to detail is crucial to be successful in this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
