Role Description

The Retail Area Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Leicester, with a mix of on-site visits to forecourt and convenience retail locations and some work from home. This role oversees multiple sites, ensuring operational standards, customer service, and compliance are consistently met across the area. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The Retail Area Manager will coach and develop onsite teams, manage staffing levels, and support recruitment and retention in collaboration with Forecourt Staffing Group. The role also involves regular reporting, problem-solving, and liaison with senior leadership to ensure business objectives are achieved.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Retail experience, ideally in forecourts or convenience stores, with a track record in multi-site or area management.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service and Communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence teams at all levels.
  • Candidates should possess solid Sales skills, including experience in driving revenue, implementing promotions, and maximizing commercial opportunities.
  • Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills, including the ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in people management, coaching, and performance improvement across multiple sites.
  • Ability to travel regularly to sites across the region and work flexibly in a hybrid Leicester-based role.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on operational excellence.
  • Prior experience in forecourt, convenience, or fast-paced retail environments is highly beneficial; a relevant management or business qualification is an advantage.
