We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Assistant to join our Commercial Team and support the growth of Harrogate Town AFC off the pitch.

Job Specification

Job Title: Retail Assistant

Reporting to: Retail Manager

Contract: Zero Hour

Hours of Work: Variable between 16-24 hours per week Monday to Saturday

Place of Work: Official Club Store, Commercial Street, Harrogate and The Marcy Fitness Stadium (matchdays)

Purpose of Role

This is a customer facing role assisting in-store and online sales in our Town Centre and matchday stores. The role requires a great degree of flexibility working around opening times and fixtures.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Sale of merchandise & match tickets in-store/online and via email/telephone
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Assist in the processing and smooth delivery of online sales
  • General administrative duties and after sales service
  • Maximising all sales opportunities and upsell Merchandise, Tickets, Emerging Talent Centre, Soccer Camps, Hospitality, Flagbearers and Mascot packages alongside all other ticket and club related promotions and opportunities.
  • Advising and serving customers on the shop floor including both ticket and merchandise sales.
  • Knowledgeable about the product range, help with stock takes and audits.
  • Assisting with promotions/events.
  • Replenishing stock on the shop floor, shirt printing, packing and dispatching online orders.
  • General housekeeping, and upkeep of the shop floor, storeroom and outside the shop.
  • Contribute to a positive, efficient team and environment.
  • Any other duties required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following qualities and skills:

  • Have a friendly, positive outlook, with a can-do attitude.
  • Be computer literate with administration skills.
  • Flexibility with working hours including school holidays and Saturdays.
  • Competent delivering consistently high customer service.
  • Be a team player who is versatile and flexible and an ambassador for Harrogate Town AFC at all times.
  • Has experience of working in a ticket and or retail environment.
  • A knowledge or passion for football is desirable but not essential.
  • Enjoys working as part of a team.
  • A proactive nature and a willingness to learn.
  • Full UK Driving License with access to a vehicle.
