What if your next leadership role helped you develop your career while exploring the world?

This is retail leadership development, but not as you know it on the high street.

With Harding, you will play a key leadership role within a fast-paced global retail environment where guests are on holiday, energy is high and exceptional experiences matter just as much as commercial performance.

The cruise industry continues to grow year on year, creating exciting opportunities for ambitious retail leaders who are ready to step beyond traditional retail environments and build their management careers within one of the most dynamic sectors in retail today.

As an Assistant Retail Manager, you will be more than a supervisor. You will be a coach, role model and trusted support to the Retail Manager, helping to lead a diverse team while delivering outstanding guest experiences and strong commercial results. If you thrive on developing people, driving performance and leading from the front, this could be your next adventure.

About Us

Harding is leading the way in innovative onboard cruise retail, partnering with world-class cruise lines and premium global brands to make every cruise better. Recognised as Cruise Retailer of the Year in 2022, 2023 and 2025, we operate in a truly global environment where retail excellence and memorable guest experiences go hand in hand.

The Opportunity

Life as an Assistant Retail Manager at sea is immersive, rewarding and unlike any other retail role.

Living and working onboard for up to six months at a time, you will support the Retail Manager in leading an international team, creating an environment where colleagues feel motivated, guests feel welcomed and commercial results follow.

You will play a vital role in the day-to-day success of the business, helping to deliver operational excellence while ensuring every guest interaction reflects the highest standards of service.

This is a highly visible leadership position where no two days are the same. One moment you could be coaching team members on selling techniques, the next hosting an in-store event, showcasing premium products or working alongside brand and cruise line partners to enhance the guest experience. Working onboard with French speaking guests and team being fluent in French is a must!

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
