Majestic Wine Haywards Heath Assistant Manager
The Role
As a Majestic Assistant Manager, you are responsible for supporting your Store Manager in driving the sales performance and day-to-day running of your store. You’ll deliver an exceptional customer experience and optimise KPI performance all while maintaining high operational standards. You will support more junior team members to excel and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Store Manager: Take responsibility of the store and team in their absence.
- Drive Store Performance: Maximise sales opportunities and optimise KPI performance.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service to drive business growth.
- VIP Concierge Service: Actively contact customers with updates on products and tastings.
- Sell the Story: Demonstrate and share your passion for products through in-depth knowledge, managing tasting events, and an enticing tasting counter.
- Recruitment & Development: Support the recruitment, management, and development of the team.
- Support Junior Team Members: Help them develop product knowledge and pass WSET qualifications.
- Store Maintenance: Ensure the physical appearance and maintenance of your store.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise operational running.
- Compliance: Ensure you remain fully compliant, safe, and legal.
- Communication: Support the cascade of store, regional, and business updates and communications.

Knowledge & Skills Required
- Teamwork: Experience in a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality environment.
- Customer Experience: Ability to deliver exceptional customer experience and service.
- Retail KPIs: Understanding of retail KPIs and how to drive improvements.
- Problem Solving: Ability to prioritise and strategically problem-solve in high-pressure environments.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to thrive when working alone and as part of a team.
- Communication: Excellent communication and time management skills.
- WSET Qualifications: Willingness to work towards WSET 2 and 3 Qualifications.
- Driving License: Full UK manual transmission driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.

Job Specifics
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: 44 Hours Per Week
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends
- Driving: A key part of this position so being comfortable driving one of our company vans is essential. We will not accept candidates without a full UK manual driver's license (held for at least 12 months) for this position.
- Salary: £29,080.48
- Grade: 4
