We’re hiring for the position of Retail Assistant across the retail departments at The British Museum.
If you’re looking for a new challenge and you’re able to commit to full time hours, following a rolling rota (4 on and 2 off), this role is for you.
The role
- Assisting/serving customers inside the shops with their purchases
- General cleaning duties in the shop
- Taking cash and card payments on an EPOS till system
- Restocking the displays
- Providing information about the exhibitions and the Museum

Applicants will need to be available to work up to 2 late nights per week although this may not be required that often. Possible shift patterns are 9.45-17.30, 11.00-18.45, 13.30-21.15. You’ll get one full weekend off per month.
