Job Overview
This is a great opportunity to join the Retail Catering Team at the Royal United Hospital, Bath working in Atrium and Oasis Coffee Shops as well as our main Lansdown Restaurant.
We provide our patients, staff and visitors with a place to relax and an opportunity to take a break. Our coffee shops provide Lavazza Barista Coffees, as well as other hot drinks, plus a wide range of sandwiches, cakes and pastries like many high street coffee shops.
Our Lansdown restaurant serves three meals each day, together with hot drinks, sandwiches, and snacks.
Our Retail Team are focused on providing great customer service and we are always looking to improve our offering, giving team members the ability to suggest developments to enable us to serve our patients, staff, and customers even better. The successful candidate will be very much involved in building on the services provided and supporting the team in this goal.
As part of the Retail Team, you will also be serving customers with food and drinks, taking customer payments, setting up or clearing down serving areas, clearing customer tables, and helping to maintain a clean, hygienic environment.
Main duties of the job
- Working as part of the Retail Catering Team.
- Providing great customer service in the retail catering outlets – Lansdown Restaurant, Atrium & Oasis Coffee Shops.
- Preparing the outlets for service, serving food and beverages to customers, taking customer payments and helping to maintain a clean, hygienic environment.
- To ensure the safety of the food services, completing food safety checks, and completing documentation for due diligence and assurance.

Essential criteria
- Good general education to GCSE level.
- Willing and able to complete mandatory food hygiene training qualification.
