Location: York

We are looking for a Retail Communications Lead to join our Central Operations team, leading a strategic approach to retail communications that ensures our retail estate is informed, connected, and engaged through clear, timely, and impactful multi-channel communications.

The successful candidate will lead the Retail Communications function, driving communication excellence across operational, commercial, and business-critical initiatives while continuously improving how we engage with retailers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the retail communications strategy for Bestway Retail.
  • Own the Retail Communications Plan.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Communications team to deliver clear, engaging, timely, and actionable communications to retailers.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to understand retailer needs and continuously improve communication effectiveness.
  • Partner with key departments to understand business priorities and translate them into effective communication strategies.
  • Create communication plans for key operational initiatives and sales-driving initiatives in line with the broader retail team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve how the organisation communicates with retailers.
  • Measure and evaluate communication effectiveness using relevant engagement metrics and feedback.

About You

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for different audiences.
  • Proven experience in communications, internal communications, retail communications, or a related field.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to work effectively across all levels of the business.
  • Experience within retail, FMCG, wholesale, or multi-site environments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Strong IT skills including proficiency in all Microsoft applications, particularly in Excel.
