- Location: UK-based, hybrid: 2–3 days per week at ATHX HQ, Regular UK and international event travel, including weekend working around the event calendar.

ATHX Games is a global fitness racing and competition brand that delivers world-class events, experiences, and community engagement for athletes of all levels. We continue to expand our event portfolio and commercial offerings, we are seeking a highly organised and commercially minded Retail & E-commerce Manager to oversee all aspects of merchandise planning, inventory management, retail operations, and partner coordination.
The Role
The Retail & E-commerce Manager will lead the planning, procurement, inventory management, and retail execution of all ATHX Games merchandise across both live events and e-commerce channels. This individual will serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between ATHX Games and Adidas, managing product forecasting, purchasing requirements, apparel development, and future merchandise initiatives.
The successful candidate will ensure optimal stock levels, deliver exceptional event retail experiences, provide regular performance reporting, and support multiple departments with apparel and footwear requirements.
The role includes management of all ATHX events across the season and all budgeting and revenue across events and online, with responsibility for the merchandise stock budget and margin, and day-to-day supervision of temporary event retail staff. Will manage a team of freelance event staff at each ATHX event.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandise & On-site Retail Operations
- Manage all ATHX Games merchandise operations across live events and e-commerce platforms.
- Develop and maintain seasonal merchandise plans aligned with event schedules, sales targets, and customer demand.
- Oversee inventory management, stock allocation, replenishment, and warehouse coordination.
- Ensure accurate stock control procedures and inventory reporting across all sales channels.
- Lead on-site retail execution at ATHX Games events, ensuring professional presentation, staffing coordination, and customer experience standards.
- Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for growth, optimisation, and new product development.
- Manage on-site POS, payment and cash-handling processes, and ensure event retail set-ups meet ATHX health & safety requirements, including manual handling and temporary structures.
- Coordinate cross-border stock movement for overseas events, including shipping, customs, duties and VAT, working with Finance and logistics partners.
- Plan end-of-season and end-of-range stock clearance to protect margin and minimise write-offs.

E-commerce Trading
- Own day-to-day trading of the ATHX webstore, including product listings, site merchandising, pricing and promotions, aligned with the event and marketing calendars.
- Monitor online performance (traffic, conversion, average order value, returns) and act on insight to grow online revenue.
- Manage order fulfilment, returns and customer service standards with the fulfilment / 3PL partner.
- Work with Marketing on product launches, email and social campaigns that drive webstore sales.
Adidas Partnership Management
- Act as the primary operational contact between ATHX Games and Adidas.
- Coordinate product planning, purchasing, forecasting, and inventory requirements.
- Collaborate with Adidas on future product launches, custom merchandise designs, and apparel development initiatives.
- Manage timelines, approvals, and communication to ensure successful product delivery and availability.
- Maintain strong working relationships with Adidas stakeholders and provide regular updates on business performance.
- Ensure all co-branded product follows agreed brand guidelines, approval processes and IP requirements.
Forecasting & Reporting
- Produce sales forecasts and purchasing plans based on historical data, event schedules, and growth projections.
- Analyse merchandise sales performance and provide regular reports on key metrics, trends, and opportunities.
- Recommend actions to improve profitability, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction.
- Track inventory health and implement processes to minimise stock shortages and excess inventory.
Cross-Department Support
Workforce Operations
- Support the Workforce Manager by coordinating apparel and footwear requirements for volunteers, event staff, and workforce teams.
- Ensure timely ordering, allocation, and distribution of all workforce apparel.
Marketing & Influencer Programmes
- Support the Marketing Team by managing inventory and fulfilment requirements for influencers, ambassadors, content creators, and promotional campaigns.
- Coordinate merchandise seeding and product distribution initiatives.
Affiliate Programme
- Work closely with the Affiliate Team to source, maintain, and distribute affiliate merchandise kits.
- Ensure sufficient stock levels are available to support affiliate growth and engagement initiatives.
- Manage fulfilment processes and inventory forecasting for affiliate merchandise programmes.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Substantial, proven experience in merchandise management, retail operations, inventory management, or a related commercial role.
- Experience managing both e-commerce and physical retail operations.
- Strong forecasting, inventory planning, and analytical skills.
- Experience working with apparel, footwear, or consumer product brands.
- Excellent project management and organisational abilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency with inventory management systems, e-commerce platforms (e.g. Shopify), and reporting tools.
- Willingness to travel in the UK and internationally and to work weekends around the event calendar.
