INTERIM MARKETING DIRECTOR | RETAIL | 3 MONTH CONTRACT
Location: North London | 5 days per week on-site
We’re looking for an experienced Interim Marketing Director to join a well-established, highly successful retail business on an initial 3-month contract. This is a hands-on interim leadership role, with a clear and immediate mandate: protect and deliver a critical seasonal trading period, while providing experienced leadership and support to an established marketing team.
The opportunity
You’ll take responsibility for leading the marketing function through a particularly important period for the business, working closely with the senior leadership team and supporting two direct reports across e-commerce and creative.
The role will suit someone who can quickly understand an existing operation, build trust, get close to the detail and make things happen — without feeling the need to change everything on day one.

You’ll be expected to:
- Lead and coordinate the marketing plan through the key winter trading period
- Provide clear, practical leadership to the existing marketing team
- Support and develop junior managers
- Bring strong commercial thinking and customer insight to marketing activity
- Use data and CRM insight to inform decision-making
- Work across both digital and traditional retail marketing
- Understand the customer journey from digital awareness through to in-store conversion
- Work closely with senior stakeholders and confidently manage upwards
- Identify opportunities for improvement while respecting the existing business context
About you
We’re particularly interested in seasoned interim leaders who have worked in medium-sized or entrepreneurial businesses and are comfortable operating with sleeves rolled up.
You’ll bring:
- Strong retail marketing experience
- Proven interim or change/transition experience
- Excellent commercial judgement
- Experience across digital and traditional marketing channels
- Confidence working with CRM/customer data and platforms such as Klaviyo
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- A calm, pragmatic and emotionally mature approach
- The ability to develop people while still delivering at pace
- A willingness to work hands-on when required
