About:

SailGP is racing redefined. The sport’s pinnacle league, SailGP was established in 2018 and is headquartered in London and New Zealand. The annual, global championship aims to Race for the Future by showcasing the power of nature and accelerating change.

The fan-centric, inshore racing takes place among the sport’s top athletes in some of the most iconic harbors around the world, and offers the sport’s largest monetary prize of $1 million. Rival national teams battle it out in identical supercharged F50 catamarans, engineered for intense racing at electrifying speeds exceeding 60 mph/100 kph.

In 2020, SailGP set a new standard as the first climate positive sports and entertainment property, and began delivering actions and innovations that advance the global adoption of clean energy. Underpinning the organization’s purpose-driven agenda is a diversification of the league, with the goal of immediately progressing gender equity and racial inclusivity.

Summary:

We are seeking an ambitious, commercially savvy merchandising professional to join our Retail & Licensing team. Reporting directly to the Licensing & Retail Director, you will drive profitable growth by leading merchandise planning, trading analysis, strategic sourcing, and inventory optimization.

This role bridges commercial merchandising, supplier management, and global stock movement to ensure we deliver the right products at the right price and time. Partnering cross-functionally with Ecommerce, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Experience, you will maximize sales performance, protect margins, and ensure flawless product execution across live events and promotional campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Buy Planning: Help draft seasonal buy proposals across categories and vendors based on inventory targets.
  • Track Sales Performance: Compile weekly reports on best and worst sellers to highlight rebuys, cancellations, or markdown needs.
  • Pull Trading Data: Gather historical sales metrics to assist in drafting future range plans.
  • Coordinate Product Launches: Track delivery status, shipping, and invoicing so stock arrives in time for promotional events.
  • Support Pricing Strategy: Assist in monitoring competitive pricing and tracking product margin performance.
  • Maintain Supplier Follow-Up: Serve as the day-to-day operational contact for suppliers to ensure smooth delivery and service levels.

About you:

  • Proven track record in merchandising, buying, planning, or supply chain management.
  • Hands-on expertise in demand planning, PO management, replenishment, and material flow in fast-paced trading environments.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a clear understanding of how stock decisions impact sales, gross margins, and international customer experience.
  • Solid familiarity with global logistics and international freight movement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of taking ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.

Location:

London, United Kingdom. The role is based at the SailGP office in Hammersmith, London with some international travel required.
